About & Methodology

What counts as "Made in USA"

We use the FTC's "all or virtually all" standard as our reference. Partial claims, such as "assembled in USA" or "globally sourced materials," are noted on the listing.

What Verified means

A listing is Verified when it meets one of these two rules.

General rule

  1. The maker's own site or packaging explicitly says the product is made in the USA at a named location;
  2. at least one independent source confirms it (a chamber listing, Georgia Made certification, or press); and
  3. it was checked within the last 12 months.

Farm rule (farms and agricultural producers)

  1. The maker's own claim that its products are raised or grown locally;
  2. an independent listing that confirms the farm's address (for example, Georgia Grown); and
  3. it was checked within the last 12 months.

Anything else stays Unverified.

How sources are cited

Every listing links one or more sources supporting its claim, plus the date it was last checked.
